Magnetic and Electrolytic Scale Inhibitor and Central Heating Corrosion Inhibitor - Install and Ignore
We strongly recommend having some kind of Scale Inhibitor system in place with every boiler purchased. This will increase the longevity of the boiler and reduce the effects of Hard Water.
At the bottom of the page is a short explanation of what Hard Water is and what problems it can cause.
Product Features
This is a totally unique scale inhibitor that combines two scale inhibiting technologies into one. The first - a magnetic bar is used to induce a single polarity into the water. This causes calcium and limescale particles to take on the same polarity. The particles then repel each other, thus preventing the formation of hard limescale. The Zinc plates slowly release minute particles into the water supply which prevents corrosion by removing all the air in the system.
-
Can be fitted to a central heating system to stop corrosion
-
Can be fitted on cold water mains to prevent the formation of hard limescale
-
Suitable for fitting on both 15mm and 22mm pipework
-
Push-fit fittings make it easy to install
Water Problems
Over 60% of the UK live in a hard water area. This essentially means that when water is heated, hard scale forms on washing machines, showers, dishwashers, boilers and taps. This gets worse the longer it is left, leading to expensive repair or replacement costs.
1. Water Hardness
There are two types of hardness:
-
Temporary hardness
-
Permanent hardness
Temporary hardness comes out of the water when it's heated and is deposited as scale and fur on kettles, boilers and taps. It also appears as scum or film on tea and coffee. Permanent hardness on the other hand is unaffected by heating.
Possible Solutions: Water Softener, Scale Inhibitor, Water Filter.
2. Chlorine
This is added at water treatment plants to destroy contaminants, disinfect the water and minimise bacteria. Leaves an unpleasant taste and odour.
Possible Solutions: Water Filters, Reverse Osmosis
3. Particles & Rust
These come from a gradual breakdown of the lining of concrete or iron mains, water pipes or from sediment that has been disturbed.
Possible Solutions: Water Filters, Reverse Osmosis
