Combi Boilers (short for Combination Boilers) are becoming the most popular type of boiler in the UK, with over half of all new condensing boiler sales being of combi boilers. Combi boilers are a highly efficient way to heat water and provide heat for your central heating system.
As water for your taps is only heated on demand, you don't waste energy keeping a tank of water hot. This also allows you to free up space that would traditionally be used by a hot water cylinder in an airing cupboard. You may find that the speed at which water can be heated is slightly less, but you will find that your water comes out of your hot tap at mains pressure.
Combi boilers provide heat for your radiators in a similar way to conventional, or system boilers. They heat the water in your central heating system as it passes through the boiler.
Please note that not all homes have sufficient water pressure for a combination boiler. A Gas Safe Registered heating installer should always check your mains water pressure before recommending a combi boiler. |
