Many European basins are supplied with no tap holes. If tap holes are required, these can be easily knocked out on site by following these easy instructions. All that is needed is a small hammer and a punch.
RAK Ceramics UKhas announced that the company will be revealing its latest bathroom sanitaryware designed exclusively by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen at KBB 2006 Hall 19, Stand F89/F79. The Rondo collection is specially targeted at the UK market - designer looks without the cumbersome bulk of larger sanitaryware.
Featuring a compact basin with 3/4 pedestal and close coupled or back to the wall WC, Rondo's styling incorporates subtle references to contemporary architecture with a modern elegance. As a premium quality statement in ceramic it is the best value suite in the Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen collection and will be available exclusively through the RAK Ceramics.
Achieving optimum style and functionality in a small space takes ingenuity and innovation. Doing away with a full width rear tap shelf, the 600mm wide basin features a large bowl that extends almost to the very back of the unit. As a key element of its looks, this distinctive feature provides generous volume and is suitable for the increasingly popular wall mounted basin fillers. Shrouded underneath by a deep apron, side mounted mono-block or twin taps are alternatives in the left and right back corners of the basin. This allows the flexi pipes provided with most monoblock taps to be connected out of sight to the pipework, hidden in the 3/4 pedestal with its rebate to facilitate the connection.
Specifically designed not to visually overpower, Rondo's neatness is carried over to the WCs, which have a compact projection of just 630mm in close-coupled style and only 490mm in back to wall style.
Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen is clearly proud of his latest creation: ‘No matter how design conscious we as a nation have become, no matter how literate or clever we are at creating our own style, there's one inexcusable factor about Britain - our bathrooms tend to be rather small. I've been struck that simply because you don't have an enormous square footage, there should be no reason why sexy contemporary design should be denied. So in response, I've designed Rondo.’ He concludes, ‘Understated, neatly tailored and comfortably elegant, I think Rondo is ideal for the British bathroom.’
RAK Ceramics, one of the world's largest ceramic tile and sanitary ware manufacturers. Marking the brand's full arrival in the UK with a complete product range,
In addition to an unprecedented number of new product debuts, such as the latest exclusive sanitaryware designed by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and a new breed of modern Fireclay sink, RAK Ceramics is using KBB as a showcase of the company’s involvement in high end major projects. Examples of this include RAK Ceramics' development of a high performance floor slab for BAA at Heathrow T5 and a bespoke black tile that is proving a hit with some of London's top hotels.
RAK Ceramics' tiles have also been specified for royalty - one of London's major Olympic venues has a regal staircase finished in RAK Black Polished Porcelain that is set to be used by Her Majesty The Queen for prize giving. As the perfect opportunity to roll out the red carpet for visitors, a replica of the actual staircase will be on the stand.
New - Charlton 55cm Basin
Having enjoyed huge success in 2005 with the company’s new Charlton bathroom sanitaryware, RAK Ceramics is adding a 55cm wide basin to the range. Featuring the same overhanging overflow feature for flowing lines, the slimmed down basin is suitable for smaller bathrooms found in the UK. It is complemented by a full pedestal and close coupled WC. Like its larger 65cm sibling, the Charlton basin's clean lines are equally suitable in minimalist or traditional settings.
New - Rondo collection; style for small bathrooms
Designed exclusively by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Rondo is specially targeted at the UK market - in his words: ‘I think Rondo is ideal for the British bathroom - understated, neatly tailored and comfortably elegant’. Featuring a compact basin with 3/4 pedestal and close coupled or back to the wall WC, Rondo's styling incorporates subtle references to contemporary architecture with a modern elegance. Specifically designed not to visually overpower, as the best value suite in the Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen collection it will be available exclusively through the RAK Ceramics dealerships later in 2006. Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen will personally unveil the suite at KBB 2006 and will be on RAK Ceramics' stand F89/F79 on Sunday, 22nd and Monday, 23rd January.
New - The Dream Gourmet Collection
RAK Ceramics' new breed of modern Fireclay sink is being unveiled at KBB. As the logical extension to the popular Gourmet range, the 'Dream Gourmet Collection' features two new models that redefine the style and usability of the typical fireclay sink. The key to this revolution is an integral draining area that provides a complete washing solution in one unit that can be inset or over mounted within kitchen work surfaces. With the Gourmet 11 featuring a single oblong bowl and the Gourmet 12 having an additional half bowl, both models are an impressive 1,000mm long and 520mm wide. Recessed into the body of each sink, the draining areas are smooth and flat, making them stylish and easy to keep clean.
A complete accessory package is planned that will include an optional twist free blocked hardwood chopping board and high quality chrome finish plate rack and salad basket.
New - Oxodium Tiles
Oxodium is just one of a number of new tiles from RAK Ceramics that form a key part of the massive water feature. The range features an oxodised finish that comes in subtle orange and blue/black versions. As the finishing touch to all sorts of design-led contemporary floors and walls, the dappled metallic lustre of Oxodium can be complemented by a modern steel border strip. Oxodium tiles are made from RAK Ceramics' porcelain and are fully vitrified to EN176. They come in a 60cm x 30cm size and feature durability and superior stain resistance in equal measure. Steel border strips come in three sizes - 0.5cm x 30cm, 1.5cm x 40cm or 1.5cm x 60cm lengths
