Gledhill Direct cylinder

The Gledhill Direct cylinder is a hot water storage tank designed for use with electric power. It is available in 7 different sizes, ranging from 90 litres to 300 litres. The largest model is capable of satisfying the hot water demands of a property with 3 bathrooms and 2 separate shower rooms.

The direct model comes equipped with two immersions, one for on-peak use and one for off-peak use. The off-peak immersion heats the water during periods of low demand, making the unit highly efficient. This setup allows the cylinder to utilize economy electricity tariffs, which reduces the cost of heating the water.

All Gledhill cylinders come with a temperature and pressure relief valve, which is pre-set at 6 bar and 95 degrees Celsius. This ensures that the unit is safe to operate and protects it from overheating.

The cylinder is designed to be used with electricity from the mains supply or photovoltaic panels. It has a 3kW incoloy 825 immersion heater for use as the primary heat source, and an additional 3kW incoloy 825 immersion heater for emergency backup.

The unit is supplied with a 90° elbow and drain valve as standard, and both standard and slimline models are available. The 90 litre model is only supplied with one immersion, while all other models come with two immersions.
