Telford Cylinders, a Reliable and Durable Choice

Telford Copper & Stainless Steel Cylinders was established in 1989. Following expansions to copper divisions and commercial calorifiers, Tristor thermal store units were introduced to the product range. These days, in response to contemporary demand for low-carbon options, the range now includes renewable heating system packages to ensure you the best products for your property and the environment.

We stock two kinds of Telford cylinders, direct and indirect vented.

Direct: Built to heat and store water supplies in residential and commercial buildings, direct vented cylinders work to heat water within a traditional vented system directly.

The water is heated in this system through an electric immersion heater element. The principle works much like a kettle in that the cylinder contains an element often turned on by a switch that activates and begins the heating process.  If you have this type of cylinder, operate your system on a timer to avoid running out of warm water.

Indirect: In indirect cylinders, water is heated through an external connection, such as a boiler or solar panel, before being transferred into the indirect tank. Water then passes through a heating element or coil within the cylinder and begins to warm. As this water becomes less dense, it displaces cooler water, which is then driven into the element for further heating, thus repeating the process and ensuring the household has access to hot water all the time.
