7000 to 8000 BTUs Radiators
Choosing a 7,000–8,000 BTU radiator
A 7,000–8,000 BTU radiator may be worth considering for a larger living area or a room with greater heat loss, provided the room’s calculated requirement falls in this range. Glazing, insulation, ceiling height and exposed walls all influence the result, so calculate heat loss rather than sizing by floor area alone.
Compare like-for-like heat output
Check the ΔT rating behind each quoted BTU or watt figure and compare outputs at the same rating. If your heating system runs at lower water temperatures, check the manufacturer’s output at your intended operating conditions; the delivered heat will be lower than at higher temperatures.
Plan the installation
Consider the radiator’s height, width and panel and convector configuration. Check the available wall space, pipe centres, valve space and manufacturer’s recommended clearances before ordering.
