  • How Do Radiators Work?

Radiators heat rooms through a process called convection. When hot water flows into the radiator, it heats the surrounding air, circling the room. Radiators are connected to a central heating system via pipes, allowing hot water to enter and warm the room through convection.

Hot water flows through the radiator and exits to the next radiator in the system chain, cooling down as it travels. Once the water returns to the boiler, it is reheated, and the cycle continues as long as the heating system is on. This continuous flow and reheating process keeps the room warm.

  • How to Bleed a Radiator?

Your home's radiators may require bleeding if they're not heating up correctly or warm to the touch at the top and cold at the bottom. Bleeding will help restore hot water flow through your heating system.

Following our helpful blog post on How to Bleed a Radiator, you can efficiently perform this quick and straightforward task.

  • Can You Paint Radiators?

Yes, you can paint radiators to enhance the overall aesthetics of your room without significantly affecting heat output. It’s best to use high-quality radiator-specific paint to avoid cracking and peeling due to temperature changes. You should paint when the radiators are off, ideally in summer, and proper preparation, including cleaning and sanding, is crucial.
