A 4" wooden kitchen match generates approximately 1BTU in the time it is consumed completely.

Working out the temperature required for your radiator can be a little daunting, which is why we've put together this blog post to help you out.

All of our radiators and towel rails should display their temperatures in terms of British Thermal Units (BTUs), the industry measurement for displaying temperature. BTUs are based on the correlation between the flow temperature in the system, the return temperature and the average room temperature. There are two standards for calculating BTUs: the Delta 50 standard is employed in mainland Europe whilst the Delta 60 standard is used in the UK. Unless otherwise noted, all of our temperatures are shown in Delta 60.

  • To convert from Delta 50 to Delta 60, multiply the Delta 50 heat output by 1.264.
  • To convert from Delta 60 to Delta 50, divide the Delta 60 heat output by 1.264.
  • To convert from BTUs to watts, divide by 3.412.
  • To convert from watts to BTUs, multiply by 3.412.
  • To calculate the BTUs or watts needed to heat your rooms, please use our BTU Calculator.
